Blue Dancers

This painting is 36" x 48", oil on panel.

It is #3 in my "Movement and Music" series, showing April 3 - 30 in the UVU Student Show at the Woodbury Gallery in Orem, Utah.

My hope was to show the way various dancers and musicians move to their respective music. I love watching dancers. I especially love the jumps and lifts. I remember watching Mikhail Baryshnikov dance when I was a child and feeling like he could fly. This painting tries to capture that sense of flight and grace, and the intricate layers of music that accompany them.
