"Green Cellist"

36" x 48", oil on canvas

This is painting #3 in my "Movement and Music" series.

The cellist sways and rocks while she plays her instrument. Her eyes close as the music moves her body in time with the sweeps of her bow. The earthy tone of the instrument is expressed through the background colors. The spirit of the music surrounds her like the roses tossed on stage.

Art Lessons at My house!

I'm an art teacher! I absolutely love it. I teach lessons out of my home. We study the principles and elements of art. My students are currently ages 6 - 12. I have lots of pictures of their projects on my Facebook page. Add me there to view the whole album. I am going to host an art show for them in October so that they can show off all their hard work. It gives me such a great opportunity to relax and have fun doing creative projects with them. Our most recent project was paper mache sculptures and pinatas. It was lots of fun! We have also done clay illustrations like Barbara Reid's, painting, drawing, work on color and texture, perspective, recycled material sculpture (you should see the pop bottle fishes!) I think I have the best job ever.
